A stunning Rörstrand majolica handled urn vase, decorated on both sides with the head of Medusa, snakes coiling around the vase and the handles, with foliage and ivy, as well as moths, decoratining the surface of the vase. Unknown designer, but clearly inspired by Palissy ware, made in Sweden. The vase is marked with the Rörstrand "Iron Stone China" hallmark in use from 1859 to 1869, an impressed AT and EA.
Condition: The vase is in very good condition, but has a small nick to the underside of the footrim, but with no other defects of any kind. The vase does have a few production flaws, there is a section of the snake on one side missing, and there is a small part of the tail of a snake missing on one of the handles. In both instances the "breaks" have been painted and glazed over, so either this was done on purpose (to give the vase some "age patina", making it look like an ancient artifact, which would make sense since it is from the neo-classical period) or it was decided before glazing that it wasn't an issue. Either way, this is still a stunning piece in amazing condition considering it's age. There are no signs of any restoration work.
Dimensions: The vase is 26cm tall (approx. 10 2/5 inches). A truly stunning and rare piece of early neo-classical Rörstrand majolica!

All orders usually take 3-5 working days to get packed and shipped out.

RETURNS
If an item doesn't live up to your expectations, contact us within 14 days of delivery to arrange for a return, and a full refund.
To be eligible for a full refund, your item must be in the same condition as when you received it. Any item not in its original condition, damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error, will at best only be partially refunded (depending on the extend of the damage).
Return shipping
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item.
If you are shipping an item over US$75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance, for peace of mind, as we can’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a week.
Late or missing refunds
If you have been notified about an approved refund, but it still hasn't shown up after 21 days, please contact us.
We also recommend in a case like that, that you contact your bank and/or credit card company, just in case there is a delay on their end due to processing times.
